For double-coated dogs who shed in drifts: shepherds, huskies, retrievers, corgis, and the like. An undercoat rake reaches past the top coat and pulls out the loose, fluffy undercoat that a regular brush skims over.
The pins on this one float on springs, so they give a little and follow the curve of your dog's body instead of digging in.

Use light pressure and short strokes in the direction the coat grows. It's made for double coats; on single-coated dogs, a regular brush is the kinder tool. A slicker brush afterward smooths the finish.
